A good place from which to explore the lovely area and see the sights. Some very good walks locally. Once the weather settled it was glorious! Excellent local restaurants in which to enjoy leisurely lunches and a carafe if wine. We will certainly be back in the near future. Many thanks.

It does just what it says on the tin! We have had a brilliant rest - just what was required. And pets included! Thanks to Judy & Charlie for being such wonderful hosts (and of course, their human partners, Jan & Bill!) We really don't want to go home...

Having decided on a complete change of holiday for 2008, we typed 'French Gite Holidays' into Google and the first site that came up was 'Maison de la Famille'. We liked what we saw and within ten minutes had booked 'Coachman's Cotage' for two whole weeks. Jan, Bill, Charlie and of course, Judy made us so welcome - nothing was too much bother for our hosts and their local knowledge and advice was invaluable. We do however have one complaint - we have to go home! Thank so much, all of you, for such a fantastic holiday.

Well, here we are again. Back for more of the "Jan & Bill" effect. And once again, we have had a wonderful time - even more relaxing than last year - so much so that we had trouble getting up in the morning! We love the pool, the garden, the games room, the frog in the pond, Judy and Charlie.. in fact, everything really. Thank you for everything, here's hoping we'll see you again soon.

"Maison de la Famille" provided us with perfect place for a much-needed respite from the usual pace of life. We were made to feel at home immediately and we were never short of advice and suggestions and how we could spend our time here. Thank you for sharing a little slice of your fabulous lifestyle with us - we will be back!

Well, here we are again and once more we have had another wonderful holiday here in Coachman's Cottage. Re-visited some of our old haunts, Castelnaud, Sarlat, Brântome all of which we thoroughly enjoyed - again! All the animals made us feel as welcome this year as last year as did, of course, Jan & Bill. Hopefully we can fit all our purchases in the car.

A super place to spend our holiday. We loved the surroundings and pool - perfect for the girls, Bethany & Emily will really miss the dogs. We hope to return again.

A lovely holiday spent in beautiful realxing surroundings with an excellent host and hostess. Good local places to eat and lovely countryside.

A spontaneous decision to get away for a few days led us here. It was the perfect place - the children exhausted themselves playing with the animals allowing plenty of reading in the sun for Mum & Dad. Precious! Duck confit will never be the same again.

We enjoyed our week here very much. We had superb weather 30°C+ each day, so the pool was just lovely to cool down in during the heat of the day. Jan & Bill very kindly let us bring our Parson Russell Terrier, also called Charlie, with us: he had a great time cavorting about the garden with Charlie & Judy. So thank you, Jan & Bill for helping our week be so enjoyable and giving us recommendations for our days out.

We had a very nice stay at "Maison de la Famiulle". We were made to feel very welcome, with its cosy atmosphere, beautiful gardens and gîte. Our hosts were excellent and their pets made our children very happy indeed. Highly recommended for a stay in the Dordogne.

Thanks Jan & Bill for your hospitality, suggestions and help. Maison de la Famille is ideally situated in the village but with all the country atmosphere.

We have enjoyed a most excellent holiday here. The gîtes are lovely - we stayed in "Coachman's Cottage" and were welcomed after a long, hot drive by a cool dip in the pool. The local countryside is trés bon. The market at Brântome on Fridays is a must, as is Beynac. As for our hosts, well, what can we say? Charlie, Judy, Shadow, Jan and Bill all did their best and made us feel more than welcome.

A loveley part of France - good food, wine & cheese. The gîte is part of a lovely old complex and in a lovely setting/village.
The weather was good, and thank you Bill & Jan for the BBQ - the confit de canard is something we'll try at home!

This was our first holiday in France - what luck to have chosen Maison de la Famille! The walks, the places to visit, the wine, the food and of couse, "la Maison" all surpassed our expectations. Thank you Jan & Bill, Charlie, Judy & Shadow for making our holiday special. We hope to see you all again soon.

We have had a truly memorable holiday here at Maison de la Famille. Barn Cottage was very comfortable and the enclosed garden was perfect for our four year old, Fred, to run around safely. A great base from which to explore the beautiful surroundings. Jan & Bill were perfect hosts and we were very grateful for their friendly help and advice.

Maison de la Famille is a "must" for anyone wanting to escape from the stresses and strains of everyday life in the UK. Jan & Bill's hospitality is amazing and they have provided us with a splendid holiday. All the facilities are excellent. Charlie, Judy & Shadow are another bonus. We're sure we'll be back!

A wonderful oasis away from it all and Jan and Bill, you were just like relatives to us - so caring and always ready to chat. We are all very different and want different things out of a holiday but that was achieved for us all here. We all loved the resident pets which made it feel even more like home. Watching the bats at dusk, BBQ's, our own terrace, the glow worms (thoughtfully pointed out by Bill during one of the dog walks) You are both excellent at what you do.

I really enjoyed myself here; you and your dogs are really nice!!! Your place is the best I've been to in France so far! Thank you!

We were made to feel so laid back we kept falling in the swimming pool! … the surrounding area is very beautiful and peaceful, with a lot of walks … there is always something to do on the gite site … the games area is well stocked and the pool (cleaned daily) warm and a natural magnet. The photos on the website, good as they are, simply do not do justice. Many, many thanks, Jan & Bill for a wonderful holiday.

Fantastic weather, beautiful gite, heavenly pool! Holiday highlights include canoeing down the river at Brantôme, a candle-lit tour of Jumilhac Chateau and the caves at Villars. I'm sure Jan and Bill will have many successful seasons and plenty of return visitors. Enjoy!

We've had a great holiday at Maison de la Famille, very relaxing. Jan & Bill have been extremely helpful and hospitable. We've loved the company of the cat and the dogs! The barbecue was a lovely idea. The children have had a great time in the pool and the games room is a great facility - the table tennis has been especially fun.

Well, what can we say? This holiday has been excellent thanks to you both. I've had the best time in the pool, the games room and taking Charlie & Judy for walks. The gite was wonderful, everything you expected - it was just like being in your back garden with everything at hand - the sun, the pool and a cool drink. Jan & Bill were brilliant hosts and Judy & Charlie were brilliant company. We would love to come back.
