Welcome to the Maison de la Famille Gîtes website. We're situated in the north of the Dordogne, in the picturesque rural village of Saint Priest Les Fougères. Conveniently within reach of well-known tourist attractions such as the famous prehistoric caves at Lascaux, the historic towns of Sarlat-en-Canada, Limoges and Périgueux and the wonderful cognac distilleries at, umm, well, Cognac, we provide comfortable self-catering holiday and vacation accommodation in our three gîtes, with our own swimming pool and secluded garden and well-stocked games area.
We are also able to offer Chambre d'Hote accommodation by special arrangement. Especially useful for those who do not want to hire a gîte for a full week.
Explore the foothills of the Central Massif, the Limousin and the Dordogne, on foot or bicycle or by car. The Futuroscope at Poitiers is well worth a visit and all the nearby towns and cities hold weekly not-to-be-missed markets (St. Yrieix, Thiviers and La Coquille are all good examples) The nearby town of Jumilhac has a wonderful chateau that is not to be missed. Pony trekking is a popular holiday pastime and we can always provide you with dogs who'll show you the walks to the nearby lakes
Our village has it's own boulangerie - fresh bread and croissants every morning! - a bar, a tabac and a presse as well as a post office. Supermarkets are all within easy reach in the adjoining towns and nearby restaurants provide exquisite yet affordable meals - the regional Perigourdine cuisine will not disappoint.
Download our brochure (Adobe Acrobat PDF format) for further details or better still, continue to browse our pages and we'll do our best to convince you that a holiday with us here at Maison de la Famille will be one of the best holidays you and your children will ever have.
Jan & Bill Parker
