The rail system here in France is exceedingly easy to use. It is best to pre-book your tickets (and reserve your seats!) but this is easily done on-line using the SNCF web page, for which we've set up a link below. Limoges railway station is pretty much right in the city centre and conveniently has car hire offices within the station precinct (again, you can and should pre-book). Our nearest station is la Coquille, only 3kms away, but it has a quite limited timetable. Thiviers, only 20 minutes away, has a more frequent service and is very easy to reach.
